About Me

I am Mark Procter, an independent celebrant living in Cornwall with my darling wife and a varying number of rescue dogs. You will most often find us walking the dogs on the amazing beaches or in the beautiful countryside that surrounds us. 

I sea swim, daily if possible in the summer and weekly in the winter. The sea is my happy place – I make sense of the world there and it’s a great place to think of the services to be conducted and reflect on those that have taken place.

And whilst I live in Cornwall, I return to East Sussex to conduct funerals twice a month.

I am also a gardener, a job I have had for twenty years. Each year I plant a tree in memory of those people whose services I have conducted. They remain in my thoughts.

Creating the service which celebrates your loved one’s life is important to me. I have been to too many funeral services where they have been impersonal, or “cut and pasted” or even where the incorrect name has been spoken. Together we will create a unique and personal service.

Love and kindness are the values I hold most dear, the service will reflect that.

At the end of the service, I know I will have done a great job when you say:

“Thank you, you “got” our loved one perfectly”
